I like to apply it first on a clean face.  Apply to the problem areas first.  Then apply to the whole face, neck and even the eye area.   You may also mix it in with your serums.  Results are noticeable quit quickly.  Other problem areas such as pigmentation or rosacea may take a little longer.   You will see results.
