I can say without a doubt it is possible to look younger as you get older. I feel I look better now than I did 20 years ago. I am a licensed esthetician and my business is skin care. I love to share what I know, so we can all feel better about ourselves.
Do you realize everything that you did to your skin as a child, will show up again when you are in your 40′s. There is no way to change that. Sun spots, freckles, pigmentation, skin tags, all are brought about from our younger days of sun abuse. Yes, skin cancer may also be included in that list.
Now for the good news. You may be able to improve your skin and regain your youth. One of my favorite motto’s is “Exfoliate and Hydrate”. As you age, this is so important. We must start exfoliating that dead skin that has gotten discolored, wrinkled, and that makes us look older than we really are.
Hydrated skin is so beautiful. Not oily skin that shines, but hydrated skin that looks dewy. Those fine lines will not be as noticeable. Give special attention to the eye area and around the mouth. Those areas are the first to show signs of aging.
You may visit an Esthetician, Spa, or Physician, or do it yourself treatments at home. Use a mild scrub, a home microdermabrasion kit or microdermabrasion product. A firming mask is very important. Find a moisturizer that penetrates the skin and makes a difference with those fine lines. Eye Cream is a must for the delicate skin eye area. These are all things that you may do at home to help your skin “Exfoliate and Hydrate”
About every two or three weeks, use a stronger product that will help you lightly peel. There are some wonderful products on the market. You do not want to do this more than every 2 or 3 weeks. If you do, may cause pigmentation from over-stimulation or you might create sun sensitivity. Be gentle to your skin.
Sunscreen needs to be a daily ritual. If you are in the sun, cover up. There are so many excellent self tanners on the market, you do not need a tan by sun or tanning bed. Light make up, or a mineral powder and a little blush can light up your face and give you a healthy youthful look.
